Frequently Asked Questions

• Are lace bras comfortable for daily wear?

Yes, when the lace is soft and the bra has a smooth lining. Look for stretch lace with a gentle edge, a lined cup and a well-fitting band, and avoid scratchy trims. A lace bra that fits properly can be worn all day.

• Will lace show through clothes?

Lace has a texture that can show through thin or fitted tops. Under light or tight clothing choose a bra with a smooth, lined cup, or a shade close to your skin tone.

• What is a padded bra?

A padded bra has a layer of foam or a moulded cup inside. It adds shape, smoothness and coverage. Padding comes in light, medium and push-up levels.

• Does padding make the bust look bigger?

Padding mainly rounds and smooths the shape. Light padding keeps a natural look, while push-up styles add the most lift and volume.

• Do padded bras feel bulky or uncomfortable in warm weather?

Modern padded bras use thin, breathable foam and soft linings. For hot weather choose a lightly padded style in a breathable fabric such as a cotton blend or spacer fabric.

• When I wear a bra, one cup fits properly and the other feels loose. What should I do?

It is common for one side to be slightly larger, and cup shapes also differ between styles. Fit the larger side and use removable pads or adjust the strap on the smaller side. Our Bra Size Calculator can also help you check your size.

• What bra should I wear under different types of clothing?

Under fitted tops choose a smooth T-shirt bra. For off-shoulder or strapless outfits use a strapless or convertible bra. Under racerback tops choose a racerback or multiway style. Wireless bras are great for relaxing at home.

• Is it normal for new bras to feel tight?

A new bra should fit on the loosest hook, because the elastic relaxes with wear and you can move to a tighter hook later. If it digs in, leaves deep marks or makes it hard to breathe, the band is too small.

• What's the best bra for everyday wear?

A seamless or T-shirt bra with a soft band, light padding and adjustable straps is a reliable everyday choice. Pick the cup style that suits your shape and the clothes you wear most.

• How do I know if my bra cup size is wrong?

Warning signs include bulging over the top of the cup, gaps at the top or sides, a centre panel that does not lie flat against your chest, and wires that sit on your breast tissue. Use our Bra Size Calculator to find a better fit.

• How do I prevent my bras from losing their shape?

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, do not wring, and dry flat or hang from the centre panel. Fasten the hooks before washing, rotate between several bras, and store them with the cups open rather than crushed.
